Why Pole Dance Shorts And Tank Tops Are the Best Outfits For The Class

Are you thinking of joining the pole dance class? If this is the first time, you might wonder what to wear and what not to wear. Many people get nervous before their first pole class and that is normal. In this blog, we have compiled a list of it and hopefully, you will get your answers.

Before getting into the details, you should know that every studio is different and they may have different dress codes. So make sure you ask your instructor about active wear before going to your first class. To learn pole dance you do not need to have a perfect body. It is a workout that helps to improve flexibility and strength.

In the first class, bring pole dance shorts and a sports bra. If you are not comfortable, bring leggings and a tank top so you can roll it up to the upper or mid-thigh. Do not forget to bring a water bottle that will help you to stay hydrated.

Safety is important in the Pole Dance Class

Safety around the pole is important, so the more skin you show, the better your experience. The instructor will only teach the basic things on the first day, so you do not have to do any upside-down movements. After that, you will get time, so be comfortable and see what works for you. If you are comfortable in pole dance shorts, wear them and ensure they are for any physical activity.

Go barefoot inside the studio, as street shoes can interfere with your performance. If you are doing an exotic class, the instructor may tell you to bring heels, kneepads and knee-high or thigh-high socks for pole dancing. Carry a pole complete set, so nothing is missed out. If you have long hair, it is better to tie it up and keep it away from the face.

Useful and Extra things to carry in the Pole Dance Class

A hand towel can be very useful when you sweat as it helps to stay dry. Many studios provide isopropyl and a towel to clean the pole, but you never know. So it is better to bring your things. For safety purposes, bring arnica gel in case you get bruises. Order it online or buy it from the pharmacy. Make sure to test it on the skin, as you may get allergic reactions. If you get bruises, just give the gel on it and dab a bit. Clean the pole at the end of the class

In pole dancing, grip aids are common. However, do not rely on them; only use them whenever you need them. Many studios have different policies so ask the instructor about the grip aids and pole dance shorts.

The instructor will make you do a warm-up and cool-down exercise. Many start the warm-up that involves jumping jacks, twisting, running, lunges, burpees, light stretching and some other techniques to warm up the muscles. Next, the instructor may tell you to do some strength-building techniques. It could include leg raises, pull-ups, gentle stretching, and side crunches. The point of doing these exercises is to help you gain strength. Try them even if you find these exercises difficult. So a loose tank top with pole dance shorts will help during the exercise.

Pole Dance Class for Men

There is no such difference for men in pole dance clothing. You can go shirtless, but ask the instructor if you want to wear a tank top. The skin contact gives the best hold on the pole, so it is always better to wear less. You can also wear a dance belt. Most of them wear tight-fitting underwear under the pole dance shorts. If you feel secure, wear them as long as you want.

What not to bring to the Pole Dance Class

Body oils, nail extensions, lotions, watches, or jewelry are a big no in the pole class. Try to get rid of the body oil and lotion 24 to 48 hours before the class. If you need it for your skin, try glycerin lotion. Avoid putting anything on the same day.

Watches, jewelry, and other accessories can get in your way of dancing and also damage the pole. Any sharp or hard objects like gemstones, plastic charms, metals, nail extensions, and so on may scratch the pole, which will also affect your grip on the pole. A pole without a fine finish can be dangerous. Take them off or leave them at your home.

Conclusion

The studio may have its preference and policy for whether you can wear pole dance shorts or not in the class. This blog is just a basic overview that gives you an idea of the first class. Doing proper research on your own helps you to learn and be confident in pole dance class. There is no such reason to feel awkward and feel nervous. Make friends and enjoy your time.
